JAIC is established (parent company of JAIC America)
under a Japanese government initiative aimed at restoring the balance of trade, the company was formed with funds provided by 102 member firms of the Japan Association of Corporate Executives.
- 1985
The Overseas Economic Cooperation Fund (OECF),
an investment promotion organization of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs, becomes the majority shareholder.
- 1996
Trading in Tokyo's OTC market begins.
- 1999
JAIC America is established.
JAIC has grown to become an industry leader
as one of the largest independent, publicly traded corporate venture capital firms in Japan.
To date, JAIC has invested more than $400 million;
more than 530 Japanese companies, and 200 overseas companies have benefited from JAIC funding.
With offices in seven Japanese cities including Tokyo and Osaka, as well as overseas headquarters in Hong Kong,
