Moriyoshi Matsumoto : President & CEO

Chairman and CEO Moriyoshi Matsmoto brings an extensive background of investment and operational knowledge to JAIC America, Inc. Mr. Matsumoto, a CMA (Chartered Member of the Security Analysts Association of Japan) joined JAIC at the corporate headquarters in Tokyo, Japan in 1989 and has been a member of the Board of Directors and Investment Committee since 2000. Additionally, Mr. Matsumoto serves as Executive Director and Chief Investment Officer of JAIC America’s Secondary Investment Fund. He has vast experience in both Accounting and International Business and received a B.A. in Law from Keio University in Tokyo, Japan.


Mitch Kitamura : Investment Partner

Mitch Kitamura joined JAIC America in 2000. Mr. Kitamura brings a comprehensive background in combining operational, technical, and international business experience between Asia and the US. Mr. Kitamura leads JAIC America’s business development in Asia-Pacific and is responsible for investments in cutting-edge Consumer Electronics and Wireless and Digital media start-up companies in the US. Prior to joining JAIC, he held various positions at JETRO New York in New York where he worked closely with local/state government expanding local companies into Japan. Mr. Kitamura earned a Bachelor of Commerce degree at the Curtin University of Technology in Australia and an MA in Economics from Boston University.

 

Chisato Ishii : Investment Partner

Chisato Ishii joined JAIC in 1996 and started at JAIC America in 2005.  Her background includes over ten years of critical venture capital industry include in the fields of accounting, finance, and international business over Japan, Asia and the United States.  Prior to her investments in the US, She served JAIC’s Fund management, Corporate Strategy, and Investment Banking departments.  Ms. Ishii brings cross-border business opportunities to investees and manages all of JAIC America’s biotechnology and life science investments.  Ms.Ishii received a B.A. in Business Administration from Nanzan University in Nagoya, Japan and received a Certificate of International Business Professions program from The University of Washington.
